Essay

This dissertation is dedicated to a comprehensive theoretical and legal research on legal nihilism. A major focus is placed on researching such phenomenon as a deformation of legal consciousness and its forms (legal idealism, legal demagogy, legal dilettantism, legal conformism, retrogression of legal consciousness, legal fetishism), since this very phenomenon is identified to be the main reason for legal nihilism to arise and spread.Special attention is given to find out the role and significance of a family and general education establishments in terms of overcoming legal nihilism. Proposals are made how to improve certain applicable law provisions as related to general education establishments acting as a provider of preventive treatment of background developments in the youth environment. Reasons are given why it is suggested that the Law of Ukraine "On Legal Education" is required to be adopted and the structure of such law has been developed in order to improve the quality of legal education and to cope efficiently with various forms of legal consciousness deformations, one of which legal nihilism is. An institutional and legal mechanism has been elaborated to overcome legal nihilism.
