Essay

Actuality of the dissertation consists in the definition of innovational criteria of B. Yavorsky's musical thinking just in the Kyiv period of his life (1916-1921). For the first time this practically unstudied layer of the scientist’s heritage is elucidated in the wide contest of Ukrainian national culture of the first two decades of the XX century. First of all the aspects of B. Yavorsky's ideas influenced on creative activity of his disciples M. Leontovich, P. Kozitski, M. Verikovsky (in future - outstanding figures in national culture). The brightest B. Yavorsky's ideas concerning chamber-instrumental, chamber-vocal and choral music are analyzed in the dissertation. Analytical vector of the dissertation is directed to the creative revaluation of B. Yavorsky's ideas by his disciples with the purpose of intensive renovation of musical thinking, apprehending of multifret nature of folklore, not standard construction of compositions, changing of genre and style intonations of musical material. In the dissertation both B. Yavorsky's theory of six principles of musical construction and M. Verikovsky’s elaborations, whose theoretical conception had been inspired by B. Yavorsky, for the first time were used as analytical devices.
