Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the study of the photodynamic cancer therapy (PDT) efficiency while using photosensitizer (hematoporphyrin) conjugated with antibodies to VEGF. The objects of research were mice of С57Bl/6 line and non-linear mice, hen's embryos, sarcoma 180, Lewis lung carcinoma, (derived strain of LLC and its variant LLC/R9), melanoma B16.Methods of experimental oncology, chemical, immunological, spectrofluorometre and erythrocytes haemolysis methods were used. It was determined that hematoporphyrin conjugated to antibodies has the same peaks of activity as its native form. While determining the photocytotoxicity it was found that equivalent concentrations of conjugate and derived photosensitizer - hematoporphyrin were equally active. It was determined that conjugate accumulated selectively in the zones of neoangiogenese. It was determined that inhibition of growth of transplanted tumours was higher under the using of conjugated hematoporphyrin comparing to its native form. The efficiency of PDT running during the day was higher comparing to PDT running during the night.
