In this paper the features of the dismissal as a single event of termination of employment relationships are found out, the differentiation of the terms "dismissal" and "workforce downsizing" are formulated. The expediency of distinguishing certain types of dismissal is proved. The innovation measures to prevent the dismissal are proposed and, the ways of improving the institutional order of the dismissal and legal measures to protect the interests of workers are examined. The legal status of dismissal workers on the market work is comprehensive analyzed.
