On the basis of the analyses of archival materials, scientific works of the scientist, publications in home and foreign periodicals the contribution of V. Sadovs’kyi into the Ukrainian social geography in the first half of the XX century are analysed in the dissertation. The study of scientific heritage of Ukrainian geographers is one of the modern directions in the development of the history of Ukrainian geography. The research enriches our knowledge with new facts about the difficult and contradictory period of the development of geographical science and history of Ukraine in the beginning of the XX century.
