The dissertation is dedicated to improving fuel economy petrol engine with a system of exhaust gases neutralization by rational choice adjusting parameters, such as degree of exhaust gases recirculation and ignition timing. The mathematical model of the "engine-neutralizer", which is a system of differential equations of motion of the gas flow, balance of volume and adiabat, taking into account influence of mode of engine and the degree of exhaust gases recirculation for parameters of the working substance in the cylinder, intake and exhaust collectors, characteristics and duration of combustion and emissions of major pollutants. The experimental researches of engine VW BBY for the influence of the degree of exhaust gases recirculation and ignition timing on fuel economy, ecological and indicator indexes are performed. The reasonable values degree of exhaust gases recirculation and ignition timing for all range of velocity and load modes of engine by criterion of minimal specific effective fuel consumption are determined. The improvement of fuel economy of vehicle in the driving cycle by rational regulation degree of exhaust gases recirculation and ignition timing is determined.
