Thesis for Ph.D. degree on speciality 02.00.10 bioorganic chemistry. A.V. Bogatsky Physico-Chemical Institute of the NAS of Ukraine, Odessa, 2010. The work is devoted to the synthesis and study of biological properties of heterocyclic compounds, containing naphthalene residue. It has been synthesized the novel derivatives of benzo[de]isoquinoline-1,3-dione, benzo[e]indole-1,2-dione, naphtho[2,1-b]furan and studied their DNA-binding, antiviral and interferon-inducing properties. The work contains aforementioned compounds' and their precursors' synthesis development. It was developed convenient method of N-alkilation of naphthalimide and benzoisatine in two-phase system. For all of finish compounds was shown their DNA-binding properties. For the first time it was shown intiviral and iterferoninducing properties for the most of title compounds. Moreover, were found antiviral and interferon-inducing properties of car-boxyl-containing naphthalimide and naphthofuran derivatives, which are able to depro-tonation in physiological environment. Keywords: 1,3-dioxo-1H,3H-benzo[de]isoquinoline, benzo[e]indole-1,2-dione, naphtho[2,1-b]furan, intercalation, DNA, DNA-binders, antiviral activity, interferon-inducing activity.
