Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the problem of determination of peculiarities and risks assessment of eye vessels pathology formation in irradiated persons. The periodic medical control was provided for 201 workers, performing transformation of the Chornobyl NPP Shelter object into the ecologically safe system, during 3.5 year. The long - term dynamic observation of Chornobyl clean-up workers cohort (2,910 persons, 26605.24 men-years observation) have been conducted. It has been ascertained, that formation of eye vascular pathology was the most early and widespread result of radioactive influence on eye. The initial changes of retina vessels were revealed in the workers Shelter object already in 3 - 6 months from beginning of works. The considerable affection of eye vascular system, significant increase of retinal angiopathies prevalence rate and premature development of retinal angiosclerosis were found in the examined groups of Chornobyl clean-up workers. Relative risk of eye vascular pathology in the dose-group 30 - 70 sGy as compared with dose-group to 30 sGy is 1.67 (1.0; 2.79). The method of retrospective biological dosimetria is developed on the basis of information about the state of wall of arteries of retina. Method of determination of threat of development of neurovascular pathology on the basis of determination of arterial-venous correlation of retina is suggested.
