Essay

The object of research is the propagation of electromagnetic waves in photonic crystals, structures with negative refractive index. The aim of research is to find out peculiarities of surface oscillations in metamaterials. The measurement method of S-parameters and the method of electron spin resonance are used. For the first time in millimeter waveband: the properties of surface oscillations were experimentally studied; the perspective media for excitation of surface oscillations were experimentally investigated; the method for investigation of the metamaterials properties was developed. Application area is applied and theoretical radiophysics.
