The thesis is devoted to the complex research of theoretical and practical issues of preventive measures in labour law of Ukraine in conditions of the country's transition to market economy. They are studied as efficient compulsive measures provided for labour legislation, which are applied with intention to cease or prevent illegal behaviour or other harmful consequences, to minimize the effect of offences or other negative factors and to provide life, health and safety of employees.The proposals concerning improvement of the current labour legislation and application of labour law preventive measures in practice are formulated.
