Essay

Dissertation is devoted to research of the law of process of plasma-arc liquid-phase reduction of iron by gases and to development of elements of technology for realization of such process. Electric descriptions of arc of alternating current of plasma-arc heater of direct action are set at the application of reducing gases as gases for forming plasma. Large efficiency of destruction of hydrocarbons in plasma of arc above melted iron-ore with formation of soot as compared to air conversion is proven. It is shown that increase of basicity of melted slag from 0,1 to 1,2 at plasma-arc liquid-phase reduction of iron is instrumental in the increase of degree of extraction of iron from 65 to 90 %. It is set that at regulation of basicity within the limits of 0,8...1,2 it is possible to get a product with concentration of silicon 0,12...0,03 mas. %. The contents of carbon is 0,02 mas. %, sulphur and phosphorus - about 0,007 mas. %. Expedience of development is rotined and the features of technology of gasification of braize by means of water vapour in which the electric power is the source of warm are certain. The flowsheet of steelmaking from iron-ore material is offered, which foresees preliminary solid-phase and final liquid-phase reduction of iron by gaseous reducing agents in a furnace with the plasma-arc heating and subsequent processing of liquid metal in the aggregates of nonfurnace treatment of steel. The results of the researches are scientific basis for planning of pilot equipment and development of technology of plasma-arc liquid-phase reduction iron by gases.
