The dissertation is dedicated to improving theoretical, methodical, and practical aspects of planning banking activities. The conceptual and categorical apparatus of the research was systemized and ascertained, in particular, there was formulated the author's definition of banking activity. The reasonability of transition from traditional structure of planning (strategic, tactic and operative) to planning on the base of general integrated strategy was grounded in the work. The essence of general targeted planning lies in specifying the most important targets and tasks in a bank's activity. On this basis a bank's policy will be formed. The analysis of the planning as an economic category was carried out. The basic methodical aspects of systematic approach to planning bank activity were defined herein. The pattern of information support of planning bank activity was formulated. The system of the main tasks for forecasting in the system of bank activity planning and the content of it was developed in the work. The analysis of general system of bank planning was made herein. The trends of increasing of efficiency of bank activity planning with the help of strategic alternatives at the level of a bank's general targeted planning were grounded in the work. The research of marketing approach to the system of bank activity planning was carried out; evaluation of bank establishment competitiveness as well as analyzing of banks-competitors activities in the process of planning was made herein; diagnosis of the process of bank establishments activity planning with the help of models-matrixes was carried out.
