Essay

The author examines the major contemporary philosophical and religious approaches to the relations between Christian and environmental ethics. Analysis of ecological aspects of the social teaching of Christian churches allows to demonstrate the transformation in the content and nature of religious concepts, attitudes and activities of Christian churches, which are characterized by turning to the modern ecological problems. The author presents the ecological interpretation of Christian social teaching and ethics, undertaken by Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant theologians, philosophers and religious figures.
