Essay

Object: dry form of age-related macular degeneration. The purpose: to promote efficacy of age-related macular degeneration diagnostics on the basis of developments of method of long-wave ophthalmography and determination of his possibilities in complex research of structures of eye fundus for patients with the dry form of age-related macular degeneration. Methods: vizometry, tonometry, perimetry, biomicroscopy, ophthalmoscopy, coloured photo of eye fundus, fluorescein angiography, optical coherent tomography of retina, long-wave ophthalmography, statistical methods; fundus-chambers of "Carl Zeiss FF 450" and "Topcon TRC Nw7sf", tomograph of "Zeiss STRATUS OСT Model 3000", modernized standard of device IRIS (infrared image system) for visualization and digital registration of images of eye fundus in real-time. Scientific information is complemented that spectral properties of structures of eye to stipulate of different image of structures of eye fundus at the change of wave-length in the range of 600-1100 nm, that is related to the different degree of absorption of radiation of long-wave part of spectrum pigments and structures of eye fundus. It is first set that diagnostically meaningful for early diagnostics of dry form of age-related macular degeneration is visualization of structures of eye fundus in a long-wave spectrum in the range of lengths of waves of 600-1100 nm. The new method of early diagnostics of dry form of age-related macular degeneration is developed, that includes transskleral (transpalpebral) illumination of eye fundus the radiation of long-wave spectrum in the range of lengths of waves of 600-1100 nm, visualization and digital registration of images of eye fundus. The method of quantitative morphometric estimation of sizes of pathological hearth is developed on the images of structures of eye fundus that allowed exposing distribution of hearth of dystrophy in the central department of eye fundus for patients with the dry form of age-related macular degeneration. Job performances are inculcated in clinical practice of department of inflammatory pathology of eye of State Institution "The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine"; department of a low-invasive ophthalmosurgery, department of the "Scientific-practical center of laser methods of treatment of eye" and policlinic of Kiev city clinical ophthalmologic hospital "Ophthalmology Clinic Microsurgery of eye Center". The sphere of use - medicine, ophthalmology.
