Essay

The thesis suggests a new approach to the contrastive and typological study of associative and thematic fields of human social status nominations in Ukrainian, Polish and German. The paper introduces the complex methodology for comparing the human social status nominations. The integral methodology applied makes it possible to identify the semantic basis of the lexical and semantic groups of nominations in the "social status" thematic field, as well as to perform the genetic reconstruction of human social status nominations. The lexical and semantic groups of human social status nominations were compared in the associative field on the basis of free association test; the common and different reactions of Ukrainian, Polish and German informants to the stimuli words were analysed.
