Kulbaba O. Clinical-immunological peculiarities of herpetic keratitis course and complex treatment of patients with immunomodulators using

The thesis is devoted to the problem of the increase of treatment efficacy of patients with herpetic keratitis (HK) on the base of use of cycloferon injections in their complex therapy. Clinical follou-up, immunologic studies of serum, cytologic studies of conjunctiva and determination of immunoglobulin level in the tear have been conducted in 85 patients with HK. The method of cytological investigation of conjunctiva by carring plate is elaborated. Ivestigations were performed in two randomized groups. Antiviral and immunostimulating remedies with laferon, as an immunostimulator, were used in the first group (41 patients); interferonogene cycloferon, besides laferon, was applied in second group (44 patients). The using of cycloferon in complex treatment of patients with HK provides better resultes of immunological studies of the eye surface and blood serum. Number of subpopulations of leucocites in serum were on 14-20% more than without cyclopheron. Number of leucocites on surface of conjunctiva in treatment with cycloferon on 17,3% more than without cyclo-pheron. Concentration of immunoglobulins A and M in the tear on 38,5% and 25% more than without cyclopheron. Cycloferon and laferon including in complex therapy of HK provides better clinical effectes, leeds to much quiker recovery, leeds to much quiker disappearance of corneal infiltrations and erosions, leeds to increasing of visual acuty on 0,11, cuts down freaquency of recurrences on 12,6% in comparison without cyclopheron.
