The thesis is devoted to the improvement of theoretical and methodical foundations for the restructuring of the financial system, methodical approaches and practical recommendations for the development of the country's financial system. The thesis studies the theoretic fundamentals of the financial system and its organization. The research develops complex approaches to the restructuring of the Ukrainian financial system. Based on the systematization of scientific research regarding this issue the thesis develops a theoretical basis for the restructuring of the financial system in the context of globalization, investigates the problems in the current organization of the financial system of Ukraine, and studies the experience of the developed countries. It explains the necessity of restructuring of the financial system of Ukraine and develops theoretical and methodical approaches to the provision of an efficient restructuring of the financial system of Ukraine. It studies the peculiarities of the state regulation of the financial system of Ukraine and offers ways to improve it by creating a single regulatory authority of the financial system's state regulation. It also examines the scientific provisions for the adaptation of the Ukrainian banking system to the Basel II requirements. The thesis underlines the importance of the reformation of the financial services market as a part of restructuring of the Ukrainian financial system and offers recommendations for the restructuring of the Ukrainian financial services market. The practical verification of the author's proposals regarding the restructuring of the Ukrainian financial system and its components has been carried out in the real institutions and organizations.
