The dissertation deals with the theoretical and legal research of the problem of legal collisions and peculiarities of the mechanism of their solution. The concept and features of legal collisions are determined on the basis of the analysis of the scientific works of Ukrainian and foreign scientists; the correlation of legal collisions with neighboring legal phenomena is defined. Notable classification criteria of collisions are generalized; expanded specific characteristic of legal collisions is proposed. The causes of arising, tendencies and directions of the intensification of legal collisions in modern society are analyzed.
