The dissertation is devoted to the actual problems of criminal registration: the condition of working out the theory of criminal registration is defined; the genesis and development of criminalistics records are studied; the place of the system of criminalistics records in information criminalistics activity for the support of crimes investigation is shown; the legal questions of conducting criminal records are developed; the directions of using of criminalistics records for the investigation of crimes are defined; the actual questions of criminalistics records automation as a perspective way of their development are solved; the ways of efficiency increase of the use of criminalistics records system are defined; the positive domestic and foreign experience of the organisation and functioning of the criminalistics records is generalised, the possibilities for distribution of criminalistics records in Ukraine are shown.
