This thesis focuses on the study of metaphoric transfer peculiarities, which are part of the author's individual style, by means of the analysis of personification in W. Golding's novels. The research suggests an integral approach that combines description of personification components, development of source domain and target domain frame networks, analysis of frame network components (slots). The scope of the source analysis allows to determine models of personification typical of W. Golding's individual style. The hierarchical structure and functional properties of the metaphoric models (frequency, productivity, dominancy) have been described. It has been found that the ability to act is the most often used for personification property of a living being The peculiarities of personification in the novels by W. Golding have been defined.
