Yaroshenko A. Assessment and regulation of competition in the banking system of Ukraine

Dissertation research is devoted to the deepening of scientific and methodological approaches and practical mechanisms of assess and regulation the level of competition in the banking system of Ukraine. The evolution of theoretical concepts of competition has been investigated; theoretical basis of the competitive relations in the economy has been generalized; specific characteristics to assessing competition in the banking system have been identified and approaches have been summarized; methodology of taking into account branching of the division network in the formation of a spatial model of regional competitive relationships between banks has been extended; methodological basis and practical calculation of the optimal number of banks of Ukraine in view of global trends in banking have been developed; instruments for formalization of parameters of the competitive environment in the lending and deposit markets of Ukraine have been developed; the readiness of the banking system of Ukraine to the use of foreign models for consolidation processes regulation have been estimated; the functions of the NBU and used by it instruments for regulating of competition in the banking system of Ukraine have been defined.
