Essay

The author of the thesis carries out a comprehensive analysis of formation and performance of Soviet power in Ukraine in 1917-1922 against the background of acknowledgement of its legitimacy both with the country and on the international arena. The author draws a conclusion that acknowledgement of the Soviet power by the population of the country was achieved due to use of traditional and specific methods of legalization of power by the party in rule. It has been proved that external affairs of the USSR government in 1920-1922 contributed to the transformation of Ukrainian soviet state into the acting subject of the international law. The author also proves the fact that the process of Soviet power legalization in Ukraine had all the formal and informal attributes, thus the legitimacy of the Soviet government became real both within USSR and abroad.
