The dissertation research is dedicated to solving the problem of training design specialists-to-be in higher educational establishments. The structure and the didactic basis of the design specialists-to-be training content in higher educational establishments were defined from the aspect of various constituents, the forms and methods of design specialists-to-be training organization in higher educational establishments were examined and the training content was developed. The pedagogical evaluation methods of professional competence level of design specialists-to-be in higher educational establishments were elaborated, based on the analysis of structure and constituents of students' professional competence formation rate, the indications of the competence in question were chosen to be the criteria of evaluation.
