Essay

The conformity of species broad conception in the systemstics of Unionidae family in the fauna of Ukraine is proved with comparison of species morphological and genetic limits. Morphological criteria for species diagnostics are worked out. The genogeografical analysis is done to show polytypic nature of several species. The hermaphroditism is established to be a common occurrence in Unionidae.
