Essay

In this thesis, the subject of inquiry is processes of reflectance degradation of in-vessel metallic mirrors intended for optical diagnostics of plasma in fusion devices. The objective of this work is the evaluation of optical and others characteristics of deposited and transformed amorphous films which initiate the degradation of mirrors reflectance. The research methods are expositions of mirror samples inside plasma devices with a deposition, transformation and sputtering of films, optical measurements and calculations. The carbon-containing films were studied, which were deposited in heliotron, tokamak and torsatron on mirrors made from molybdenum, stainless steel and copper. Also oxide films were studied, which were transformed on beryllium mirrors during the stand modelling of conditions inside reactor ITER. The experiments during several years in torsatron URAGAN-3M have a significant practical importance. The peculiarities of boron films, films deposited inside three fusion devices, of transformed films were studied for the first time. The research methods developed in this thesis were completely introduced on torsatron URAGAN-3M. The thesis results are in conformity with a field of application, and they contribute to the development of optical methods of plasma diagnostics.
