Essay

The creative work of Austrian prosaist, Arthur Schnitzler (1862 - 1931), is analysed in the given research. Ideological and aesthetic sources of his creative work, main ways of his life are traced. The becoming of the creative manner under the influence of aesthetic searchers of the foreign masters of a word (G. Ibsen, Guy de Maupassant, A. Chekhov, A. Strindberg) is analysed. All these classic writers were homogenous in their humanism and analytical thinking. He studied their creative style (laconic structure of a phrase) and the ability of modeling the inner world of characters, philosophical view upon reality.
