Essay

The thesis is devoted to the study of dynamics of the modulated electron beam in homogeneous and inhomogeneous supercritical plasma barriers via computer simulation using PIC method in 1D and 2D models. Competition between the resonant and the signal (at the modulation frequency) modes of the beam-plasma system was studied. Influence of the initial beam modulation depth, beam current density, plasma barrier shape etc. on the beam's dynamics was studied. The influence of the beam transversal restriction on its evolution in plasma was examined.
