On the basis of analysis of archival materials and scientific literature the historical and legal laws establish norms for the collection of medieval German law "Saxon mirror", especially its impact on the development of sources of law in Central and Eastern Europe in the XIII - XVIII c. An author's translation of the original preface to the text of three collections of Ukrainian language, solved and analyzed their content. The comparative mapping rules "Saxon mirror" with the modern law of the Federal Republic of Germany. Determined the legal effect of a collection of sources of law in Central and Eastern Europe (XIII - XVIII centuries.), Including the Saxon-Magdeburg rights in Ukrainian lands.
