The thesis focuses on news about natural disasters on the Ukrainian and English websites as a speech genre within the news discourse. It dwells upon comparing the similarities and differences in their creation in the English and Ukrainian linguocultures. The structure of news has been analysed with the help of the functional-communication method and the functional approach to the frame of speech genres. The peculiarities of speech implementation of speech genre "news about natural disasters" on Internet sites in English and Ukrainian has been conducted.
