The dissertation focuses on the research of directive discourse in the English prose on the level of text communicators – stimulator and stimulated and is produced by both a close connection with extralingual context and verbal realization. The study is backed with the postulates of the cognitive, anthropocentric and pragmatic approaches. Directive discourse consists of directive acts which correlate as units of different but connected levels.
