Essay

The thesis is dedicated to the development of electrochemical capacitors based on some conducting polymers. For the first time theoretically proved and practically realized some symmetric and asymmetric electrochemical capacitors based on conducting polymers, activated carbon and/or amorphous manganese oxide. Assembling above-mentioned materials in asymmetric capacitor results in a practical cell voltage up to 1.8V in aqueous medium, with energy densities close to the values obtained with electric double layer capacitors working in organic electrolytes, while avoiding their disadvantages.
