Essay

The dissertation work discusses the assessment of strain-stress distribution of glued timber nodes. It studies actual behavior of glued timber structures and nodes with allowance for anisotropic material properties. The thesis also considers the necessity of bulding nodes working in conditions of combined stress state. Theoretical questions considering elastic anisotropy of glued timber were discussed. The results of experimental-theoretical study of glued timber on different size models with the purpose of studying its mechanical and elastic properties during compression and bending also were demonstrated in this work. Tests of "clear" and standard samples were carried out both from "old" glued timber and from "new" glued timber. Orthogonal crosswise samples were tested for complex problems; their tensely deformed condition, volume deformation modules and actual damage was assessed. Based on the obtained results the failure criterion has been amended which was obtained with allowance for distortion energy according to maximum-strain-energy theory. Nodes concept features of load-carrying isolated structures of electrophysical units were discussed. Gain system of the weakest parts of the outdoor electrophysical complex was developed.
