Essay

The dissertation is the full research of V. Voyno-Yasenetsky's (archbishop Luke) life and theological-pastoral activities in the context of his philosophical and religious views, which were characterized by integrity and distinct creativity tendency, which caused many difficulties and trials in the course of thinker's life. It is shown that relying on the achievements of Western philosophy, as well as the best natural-scientific research, V. Voyno-Yasenetsky tended to the synthesis of scientific, philosophical and religious knowledge, but also made a notable contribution to the development of triad problems at the level of "spirit - soul - body". It was found out that based on the biblical basis the mentioned problems were fully described in his treatises "Science and Religion", "Spirit, soul and body", as well as in many sermons. It is summarized that V. Voyno-Yasenetsky (Crimean archbishop Luke) can be seen as a continuer of national cordocentric philosophy on the basis of his consideration of the role and importance of spirit, soul, body and heart, as well as phenomena of miracles, providence, transcendental abilities associated with them. The humanistic pathos of V. Voyno-Yasenetsky's Christian beliefs can be recognized as conformable with the basic terms of modern bioethics.
