The dissertation is devoted to study the pathogenesis of pseudoexfoliative glaucomа. Local hemodynamic changes in eyes (reduction of maximal systolic blood flow velocity in the posterior short ciliary arteries) were more pronounced in patients with pseudoexfoliative glaucoma than in those with open-angle glaucoma (7,54±0,58 against 9,64±0,49 cm/s, p<0,05). The frequency of disorders of heart rhythm and conductivity was higher in patients with pseudoexfoliative glaucoma than in those with open-angle glaucoma: extrasystole (20,9% against 6,0%, p<0,05), right bundle branch block (25,5% against 9,0%, p<0,05). In all investigated histological preparations of iris of patients with pseudoexfoliative glaucoma (based on light and electron microscopy) dominates the transformation of melanocytes caused by the accumulatation of its decomposition products in the extracellular space and vessel walls.
