Object: the epic novel "And Quiet Flows the Don" by M. Sholokhov and novels "Bread and salt", "Human blood is not water" by M. Stelmakh in their contactological and typological connections. Purpose is in comparative study of these novels, in typological and genetic interpretation and comparison of their manner and matter peculiarities. Practical importance. Results of this paper were used for optional classes in theory of literature, history of Ukrainian and foreign literatures, theory of comparative study of literature. Methods: historical and genetic, historical and functional, historical and typological method.
