Essay

The research focuses on perlocutionary optimizers, represented by metacommunicative utterances in modern German dialogical discourse. The subject-matter is the discoursive-pragmatic (speech-act and discoursive-strategic) features of perlocutionary optimizers. The objective consists in revealing the discoursive-pragmatic peculiarities of the realization of the perlocutionary optimization strategy through metacommunicative utterances. The methods of the analysis are based on the principles of functionalism in linguistics, including methods of the structural-semantic and cognitive-discoursive paradigms. The scientific novelty is determined by the fact that for the first time within the framework of cognitive pragmalinguistics there have been established the pragmasemantic and discoursive-strategic peculiarities of perlocutionary optimizers in modern German dialogical discourse. The results of the research make a theoretical contribution into the development of the cognitive-pragmatic mainstream in linguistics, the theories of speech acts, politeness, metacommunication and discoursive strategies. The practical value is in the ample potential of implementing the obtained results in lecture courses on the theoretical grammar of the German language, general linguistics, the theory of communication and discourse studies.
