Essay

The object is the explication of the masculine and the feminine in various contexts of the Western European philosophy and culture. The aim is to explicate and provide the historical and philosophical analysis of the content, nature and the role of masculine and feminine gender categories in Western philosophy and culture, as well as identify trends in their transformation into the modern world of postmodernism. The methods are the historical and principles of systems analysis. The thesis studies the influence of the feminine and the masculine on the formation of the general composition of the Western culture revealing the ontological causes of androcentrism in philosophy. The thesis shows that the philosophic meanings of "female" and "feminine" are unfixed, ambiguous and self-contradictory, implicitly revealing the incoherence of their definitions. The manuscript shows the tendencies of the feminine and masculine transformations in the modern gender society characterized by the high degree of instability. Application sphere is the training courses.
