The research focuses on the complex analysis of semantic and functional characteristics of phraseological units with the onymic component in the national variants of English. The author's attention is drawn to the variantological aspect of phraseological units functioning in Modern English and their semantic description. The present study of lexicographic and text data proves that phraseological units as peculiar cultural signs reveal the core features of the English-speaking worldview, which is different for its British, American, Australian and Canadian varieties.
