The research focuses on the structural, syntactic, semantic and functional features of civil procedure nominations in the English language and its national variants (British, American, Canadian, and Australian) and discourse (scientific, newspaper and fiction). An integrated approach to the study of courtroom nominations using conceptual, semantic, definitional, componential, variant and discourse analyses is suggested in the thesis. As a result, the conceptual system of civil procedure has been modeled within the conceptual megasystem of law in the English language, the subsystem of civil procedure nominations was investigated as a constituent of the English language lexicon. The functional semantics of courtroom nominations was investigated in the above mentioned types of discourse, and with a special emphasis on usage of the referred nominations in the national variants of the English language.
