In dissertation for the first time the scientific literature of XVIII - the beginning of ХХІ centure devoted to the organization of defences building and its influence on population of south - east Ukraine in XVIІ-XVIII centuries were recearched, the conformities to natural laws of accumulation of scientific knowledges on the theme were observed, the condition of problem study was defermined and the main stages of the historical thought's development on different stages of the development were defined.
