Essay

Objects of research – winter wheat, the main phytophages: group of the cereal flies (Oscinella pusilla Mg., O. frit L.; Hessian fly - Mayetiola destructor Say.); cereal aphids Sitobion avenae F., Schizaphis graminum Rond., Brachycolus noxius Mordv., Rhopalosiphum padi L.; sowfly - Cephus pygmaeus L.; leaf btles - Oulema melanopus L., Oulema lichenis Voet.). Purpose of research – to improve the methods of estimation of the varietal samples and varieties of the winter wheat against the main insect pests in the Central Forest-Steppe in the Ukraine. Methods: observations, laboratory and field tests, statistical method. Scientific novelty – it is grounded the real possibilities to develop complexly resistant varieties of the winter wheat against the main pests. It hes been improved the system of the maker traits by the uniform 9-score scales and amalgamated the mechanisms of resistance of the winter wheat varieties’ against the main insect pests in the uniform model of complexly resistant variety that is important stage for independent computer evaluation of a resistance level of varieties against individual phytophages and also for their groups and complexes. It is improved and elaborated the unified method for estimation of the resistance’s level of the varietal samples and varieties of winter wheat and also the system of counts and harmfulness of the interstem, leafeating and sucking insect pests (aphids) with correspondingly 9-score scales. It gives a possibility to determine all existing types of plant resistance for any varietal sample of winter wheat. Thore were substituted all the word characteristics of variety to the figures by the 9-score scales that significantly improve data base. In so doing, it gives a possibility to carry out independent computer estimation of the resistance level of winter wheat varieties at state examination. Branch – agriculture, plant protection.
