Polschykov V. Particularities of Criminalistics' characteristic of unsolved murder and its investigation.

The thesis is a comprehensive monographic research of criminalistics' characteristics of murders that remain unsolved during some period of time and particularities of their investigation. In particular based on generalization of the materials of criminal files and analysis of academic publications the typological characteristics of the victims is given and typical place, time, conditions and traces of murders committed without witnesses are determined as well as modus operandi of murders commission and concealment; and typological characteristics (profile) of a murderer. The causes for non-solving murders (objective and subjective) as well as typical conditions for renewal of pre-trial investigation on murders committed in past years were determined. Content of the analytical activities of an investigator in such cases and particularities of the planning of investigation (determination of typical tasks of investigation and ways for their solution) as well as tactics of some investigative methods application (interrogation, crime scene inspection, search, line-up, prescription of forensic examination, reconstruction of the conditions and circumstances of a crime) were identified and described.
