The dissertation presents the integrated analysis of E. Shtrittmatter's late prose: novel trilogy "The Shop", cycle "Before Metamorphosis" and collected works "Stories without Motherland" in the context of writer's philosophic-aesthetic searches. The artistic world of Ervin Shtrittmatter's late prose has been examined as a structure, the unity of world view and creative method of the author. The influence of world thinkers' ideas (Lao-Tzu, F. Nitsher, A. Schopenhauer, L. Tolstoy, Zh.-Zh. Russo, I. Kant, R. Emerson) on the formation of writer's artistic world has been revealed in the work. The problem-thematic and motive complexes, the peculiarities of artistic time and space organization, the structure and typology of artistic images in the late heritage of writer have been defined. E. Shtrittmatter's genre solution within the novel and short prose as well as the writer's individual style features (intertextuality, graphostylistic means, etc.) have been revealed. The artistic world of E. Shtrittmatter's late prose has been studied in the context of German literature development in the second half of the 20th century and in the context of literature directions, trends, genres, styles interaction. The author reveals the synthesis of realism, naturalism, romanticism, modernism and postmodernism in E. Shtrittmatter's late prose.
