Essay

Formation of absorbed doses and effects in blood system of Wistar rat lines under various input conditions of radionuclides Cs-137 and Sr-90+Y-90 in different concentrations are studied. It is shown that at commensurate radiation loads in the range of small doses biological effectiveness of internal exposure is much higher compared to acute external influence of ionizing radiation. The features of formation of structural and metabolic abnormalities in blood system of animals are identified. It is shown that low doses of radiation at the input of radionuclides develop oxidative stress, which is characterized by activation of superoxide generation, intensification of free radical processes, depletion of antioxidative enzymes (eg, catalase). We have shown that these changes in oxidative metabolism, apparently, cause destruction of DNA in the remote period after the input of radionuclides. It is noted that the feature of internal exposure is nonuniformity of continuous exposure of various tissues when processes of radiation lesions of biological structures and their recovery occur at the same time.
