Essay

In the dissertation neo-realism as a theoretical and critical discourse in the study of Ukrainian and Russian literature during the 19th-20th centuries is investigated. The main attention is given for neo-realistic conceptions of writers, critics and theoreticians of the 19th-20th centuries, own conception of neo-realism is substantiated. Neo-realism is defined as a modernist (since 1980s - post-modernist) stylistic trend, which testified to the manifestation of a realistic kind of creative work in modern art. It is based on the ability peculiar to realistic aesthetics to make links with modernism and post-modernism on the philosophic-world-view and poetical-stylish levels (as an original synthesized artistic phenomenon).
