Avramenko N. Opera creative work of Franz Schreker: the problems of style integrity

In the dissertation are studied the individual composer style features of F. Shreker on the examples of his operas "Der ferne Klang", "Das Spielwerk", "Christophorus oder Die vision einer oper". The major matter of studying is the matter of composer's style integrity, which is defined as eclectic by music experts. The topic relevance is grounded upon the necessity to revise traditional viewpoints and references of the composer's creativity which are often insufficient.This study is focused on both verbalization and musical intonation of the operas mentioned above. The detailed analysis of the different genres opera librettos allowed to highlight peculiarity of the artistic method of Schreker's being libretto-expert as well as to detect literature and philosophy tendencies upon the edge of the 19th-20th centuries, embodied.The holistic analysis, performed in the thesis allows to characterize the features of the musical language and dramatics of the operas mentioned above and also provide their style analysis, followed by conclusions concerning essence of the original composer's music style.
