The thesis is devoted to research of space-time variability of the oil, total phenol, synthetic surfactant contamination level in the Dnieper Estuary and Odessa port water and sediments over 1996-2006. On the basis of calculation of the contamination indexes the comprehensive description of regional water quality is presented.New methodology of the integral elimination time evaluation for the contaminants through their total content is proposed in the framework of national ecosystem monitoring. Specific elimination rate from the distinct regions of the Dnieper Estuary and Odessa port was estimated for oil and total phenol. Ability of the ecosystems to self-cleanse concerning the main contaminants is analyzed by means of simulation their assimilation capacities.Through the quantitative assessment of this ability the real opportunity of the active-action-policy formation in the field of rational exploit of natural resources and conservancy is demonstrated.
