The thesis is aimed at improving the existing and the development of new complex resource- and energy- saving technologies of converter bath blowing, as well as slag scull coating on the converter lining and converter lances for their operation under the raw materials conditions in the Ukrainian metallurgical industry. Using modern methods of physical and numerical modeling we have obtained a new credible information about the mechanism peculiarities, hydro and gas dynamical and heat- and mass- transportable processes which accompany the converter blowing by specifically designed ultra- and subsonic oxygen jets and the following blowing of slag mass by moving nitrogen jets with the simultaneous blowing on the converter walls the slag scull formed by the sintered magnesia slag-forming materials. On the basis of the obtained information the new constructions of oxygen lance tops with optimized cooling system; the converter bath blowing technology, which provides accelerated slag formation with the end content MgO (5-7%), the improvement of metal dephosphorization and desulfurization processes, the reduction of metal blocks formation in lances and in the mouth of converter, have been developed and proposed to commercial operation at 160-ton converters of JSC "ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih". The new technology of lining hot repair of 160-ton converter and the design of a scull torkret lance, providing slag scull coating by means of blowing of the end slag, containing 5-7% MgO, with the simultaneous flare torkret filling by blowing the sintered unburnt dolomite into the scull layer, were worked out and implemented into industrial production with the considerable resource- and energy- saving result.
