Essay

Results of clinic, biochemical, immunochemical investigation of 171 patients with acute viral hepatitis, chronic viral hepatitis and hepatic cirrhosis are presented in the thesis. The dependence of the activity of matrix metalloproteinases and the content of hyaluronic acid from the variant of the course and severity of viral hepatitis is revealed. MMP-2, pro- MMP-9 and MMP-9 activity definitely depends on the course of the diseases (in comparison to healthy people) and the period of the disease (dynamics). The serum level of hyaluronic acid was definitely increased in acute and chronic viral hepatitis, hepatic cirrhosis. The fibronectin degradation degree is definitely increased compared with control group, its low molecular weight fragments appear in hepatic cirrhosis, which indicates the activation of proteolysis in connective tissue. New diagnostic criteria of prognosis of chronic viral hepatitis and cirrhosis of viral origin were found. They include: fibronectin level, hyaluronic acid and pro-MMP-9 activity. On the experimental model of chronic viral hepatitis in rats it was shown that Glutargin accelerates the reparative processes in liver.
