Essay

Objects of research – the main buckwheat phytophagous insects, their harmfulness and biological features are the main objects of researches. An aim of researches is to learn biological features of the main buckwheat pests, and also to improve the system of protective measures (taking to account technology of buckwheat planting in the conditions of Forest-Steppe Zone of Ukraine). The methods of investigations are: observations, laboratory and field experiments, statistical method. Scientific novelty is: it is set that in the Central Forest-Steppe Zone of Ukraine the main buckwheat pests are flea beetles and aphids; is specified the ratio between phytophagous insects and entomophages. In modern conditions the features of the seasonal dynamics of flea beetles’ and aphids’ amount in buckwheat sowings are first studied. Are specified features of their biology, taking into account abiotic and biotic factors. Is elaborated methodology and is conducted the evaluation of the resistance of 5 modern cultivars and 17 selective numbers of the culture against the complex of beet flea beetles and aphids. Influence of terms of buckwheat sowing and distance from permanent pests’ habitats on harmfulness of pests in the buckwheat agrocoenosises is investigated. The efficiency of modern insecticides, that are used for buckwheat seed treatment (against beet flea beetles) and also for spraying of buckwheat sowings (against beet aphids), are determined. Branch – agriculture, plant protection. Field of application – agriculture, plant protection.
